An initiative to enable entrepreneurship in the Soudah Peaks destination

The Qimam Challenge is an initiative to identify, develop and support entrepreneurs, idea owners and small and medium enterprises within the Soudah Peaks project area, through an integrated journey spanning idea development, business-model validation, training, mentorship and hands-on enablement support.

The program reflects Soudah Development’s commitment to building a luxury mountain destination with an immersive cultural experience — by empowering the local community, building entrepreneurial capability and enabling sustainable economic opportunities.

Who is the program for?

The program is designed for two primary groups within the Soudah Peaks project area, per the approved eligibility terms and criteria

Program Registration Terms

Before applying, make sure you meet the approved core terms and criteria for joining the program

Basic Requirements

The applicant must be a member of the local community, at least 18 years old, and not an employee of the organising or partner entities.

The Idea or Project

An original and innovative idea owned by the applicant, falling under one of the three tracks, addressing a genuine need and capable of becoming a sustainable enterprise.

The Team

A team of 2 to 5 members with one leader; individual applications are permitted provided the applicant joins a team before the hackathon begins.

Commitment

Full attendance of the enablement phase and the hackathon days, readiness to join the four-month enablement camp, and adherence to the program’s values.

Program Phases

Five phases take your idea from application to enablement and development

One

1. Application and Selection

Applications are submitted through the online form, then screened against the approved eligibility and evaluation criteria for the selected track

2. Pre-Challenge Preparation

Onboarding sessions before the challenge: how participation works, what it requires, and how to pitch your idea

3. The Challenge

A multi-day challenge to develop ideas and build business models, with specialised mentorship and guidance

4. Closing Ceremony and Awards

Final projects are presented to the evaluation committee, winners are announced, and awards are given to the standout projects

5. Enablement and Development

A twelve-month training camp combining workshops, specialised mentorship and hands-on application

Ideas and projects that support visitor service quality and build an integrated hospitality experience suited to the Soudah Peaks destination’s nature and needs.

Community Living Solutions

Community Living Solutions

Ideas and projects that address community needs within the development area, improving quality of life through solutions with lasting impact.

The Challenge Phase

Intensive days where participants turn ideas into working prototypes with expert guidance

Day One – 10 October
Defining the problem and building the prototype

Defining the problem and forming teams; mentorship sessions with experts and building the initial prototype for each idea

Day Two – 11 October
Developing the idea and testing solutions

Developing the idea and testing solutions with users; developing the business model and financial plan for the project

Day Three – 12 October
Project pitches and the closing ceremony

Projects presented to the judging panel, the closing ceremony and the announcement of the winning teams

Winners’ Awards

Cash awards as seed funding to support and develop the project, alongside bootcamps, training courses and introductions to investors, go to the top three teams in the idea-owners category and the top three teams in the project-owners category.
